Aesthetics
This one is pretty obvious. If your house doesn’t look like it used to, it is probably time for some fresh paint. A true hint to this is when your house does not look as good as the neighbors. We are not just talking about keeping up with the Joneses, it is more so that you would not be the eyesore of the neighborhood.
Siding
Paint has different lifetimes depending on what type of siding you have. Brick is one of the most durable. You usually only need to paint every 15 – 20 years. With wood siding it can last up to seven years. Stucco can last around five years. There are many other sidings, but we will leave it at this for now.
Breaking Down
Paint will naturally break down over time. Take a look for either peeling or cracking. This comprises the ability to protect the house. The paint can also seem to have lost its luster. Rub your fingers on various parts of the house. If your fingers seem to have a chalky appearance, your paint is in the process of breaking down and will need to be replaced soon.
Quality of the Job
It is always recommended to buy the best products you can afford. If the workmanship is shoddy, the paint will never last up to its expectations. A painter that cuts corners will only cost you money in the long run.
These are just a couple of reasons to have your house repainted. It is always recommended to ask for reviews and photos of prior work that the painter has done. Dr. House Painting can provide you with all of these and a free quote. Call or contact us and we will come out and do an inspection.
